Review: Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer

Garnier 5 Second Perfect Blur Primer.

Priced at £12.99, from Boots or Superdrug, it is not the cheapest primer but just bear with, bear with. This primer promises to “leave your skin looking incredibly smooth and matte” and uses “light technology to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, imperfections, open pores and shine”. However, here is the million dollar question: Does it really work? Simple answer is yes!

If anyone has read my skin care posts you know I have oily skin. Now open pores and oily skin go together like fish and chips, especially around the ol’ T-zone, so naturally I have them. Open pores are DEFINITELY improved with this primer.

My face is relatively less shiny to other products I've used, however by the end of the day there is a bit of shiny face coming back to centre stage. In terms of blurring imperfections, it definitely calms them down so that my face doesn't look like a massive blob of red but it doesn’t "blur" them as such, merely removes “excess” redness around the blemish (if that makes sense). As for fine line/wrinkles, I can’t comment as I don’t have any, but I have read many reviews saying it does a good job.

On to the product, the primer has a thick mousse-like texture although it doesn’t feel thick or cake-y on the skin (unless you apply gallons then it probably would), which is fantastic. The primer is white with a light baby pink tone but once applied it disappears completely, and – Oh My Gosh – you will NOT believe how amazing your skin feels with this on; it makes it so super-duper smooth and silky. It’s AMAZING!!!
